Labor’s John Lyons Memorial Foundation Scholarship Program

Applicants must be a high school senior enrolled in a San Diego or Imperial County  school system whose parent or legal guardian is a member in good standing of any local labor union. Students must have 3.0 or better GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and participate in community and/or extracurricular school activities. A complete application package is available upon request.

 

(1) One four-year college scholarship for a maximum amount of $5,500.

Initial year amount is $2,500 for the school year beginning September 2015; continued scholarship assistance in the amount of $1,000 per year for a maximum of three additional years if the student continues to meet scholarship standards. 

Eligible expenses include tuition, books, and housing. Scholarship can be used for school related expenses at an accredited post high school trade or technical school, community college, four-year university or college.

IVUP University Scholarship Applicants must be admitted, first-time Freshman at San Diego State University Imperial Valley and must have a minimum 3.7 GPA, and must also be participants of the Imperial Valley University Partnership program. Coming Soon
IVUP Margarita De Necochea Scholarship Applicants must be seniors at Calexico High School, who are admitted, first-time Freshman at San Diego State University Imperial Valley;  applicants must have a minimum 3.7 GPA, and must also be  participants of the Imperial Valley University Partnership program. IVROPCF Scholarship: Scholastic Achievement Award Applicants must have completed high school with at least a 3.25 GPA and scored 23 or higher on the ACT or 1100 on the SAT; eligibility is based on residency in Imperial Valley, and enrollment in an accredited career technical school, community college or university in the United States. IVROPCF Scholarship: Exemplary Community Involvement Awards Applicants must be actively involved in a community development/improvement project with a recognized entity (e.g. school, church, community based organization, etc), have an accompanying letter of recommendation, and have at least a 2.00 GPA; eligibility is based on residency in Imperial Valley, and enrollment in an accredited career technical school, community college or university in the United States.
